Goodbye World, Hello Craft Projects
Picture this: it's a rotten weather sort of day and your shoes/pants are soaked by the time you get to work. You end up having one of "those" days where everything seems to go wrong. At the end of the day, you pull in to your driveway relieved to just disappear from the rotten day you just had.
You head inside and immediately find yourself in comfy clothes. We're talking PJ's and a hoodie. You decide to order dinner in because your rotten day has depleted your energy to even cook an egg.
Once you are settled for the night, you put on the news and then immediately turn that off because there's never anything good there (especially these days). Instead, you throw on your favourite playlist or a well loved movie for background noise and you make your way into the kitchen to brew up a cup of tea with your favourite tea blend (personally, I'm a Yorkshire tea fan). As you are holding your hot cuppa, you turn on some twinkly lights and grab a ball of yarn to finish off the scarf you have been meaning to finish, or you grab your knitting needles to make a blanket for an upcoming baby shower. You may also spread out a card making kit to finish up some cards for your handmade card stash.
The day is melting away, the world is being ignored and all is well in your corner of the world.
With all the noise that surrounds us, it's easy to get pulled in. Especially with the news of the world bringing us down. That's why it's important to take a night here and there to shut everything down, and push aside that pesky voice that sometimes gets in the way with "I should be doing XYZ". This is your time to sink into a big comfy chair, sip on that cup of tea and work on your craft project. If you feel peaceful, then stay there for as long as you need. You deserve this time!
