Craft Night in with Treats: Homemade Ice Cream
Craft night in with treats
Every craft night needs three things: something creative to work on, good conversation, and yummy treats. I mean, no one’s showing up to craft night for celery sticks.
This ice cream recipe is the perfect addition. It’s simple, a little indulgent, and just the thing to scoop into bowls between stitches, glue dots, or “wait, what was I saying?” moments.
So while your projects come together (eventually), at least dessert is a sure thing. Find the recipe below and let me know what you think!
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
**Please Note: This recipe is for the Ninja Creami - Deluxe. If you have a different Creami, then you will need to adjust the recipe. If you don't have a Creami, I highly recommend buying one. We use ours all the time and the ice cream is just so fresh and good!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 tbsp of cream cheese
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp of extract of choice (I use vanilla) or if you want chocolate ice cream, then 3 tbsp of cocoa powder
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp of heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cup of milk (2% or whole milk works best)
- 2-3 tbsp of vanilla pudding powder
- *Optional - mix in's such as crushed M&M's, oreo cookies or PB cups
Instructions:
- Melt cream cheese in microwave for 10 seconds. Then place into a large bowl and add sugar. Whisk them together until they are blended.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and use an immersion blender to mix it all together.
- If you don't have an immersion blender, then a food processor works just as well or, you can use a whisk and give your arm a solid workout.
- Add into your Creami container and freeze for 24 hours. Then spin it according to your machine's instructions.
If you’re planning a craft night in and need help, then my DIY craft kits come with everything you need. This way, you can skip the prep and get straight to creating, chatting, and maybe going back for a second scoop.
Pick a project, invite a friend (or a few), and you’ve got yourself a great night!
